Kite Runner Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The Kite Runner is a fiction book based on the thirty eight years of the narrator’s life, Amir, heir to a rich and giving father in Kabul, Afghanistan. The first part of the book is about Amir’s childhood and it progresses with the twists and turns in Amir’s life. Although a fiction, the writer continuously refers back to the political situation in Afghanistan from the 1970s till 2002 and connects with to the plot of the novels and the lives of the characters. Amir is the main character of the novel, as mentioned before; he is the only son of one of the richest merchants in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was a motherless young boy who had everything a boy wanted, except what he wanted the most- his father’s, Baba’s, love. Amir spent his childhood playing with his servant Ali’s son Hassan, who too was motherless but for a different reason. Amir and Hassan had been the best of friends since childhood; they had been fed by the same woman and were always considered equally by Baba, despite the fact that Hassan was a Hazara servant’s boy. Amir had always depreciated Baba’s equal affect......
