The West Indies Yacht Club Resort (WIYCR) is faced with a problem of high expatriate turnover rate, an increase in guest complaints and a poor relationship between expatriates and local staff who in turn feel unmotivated to work hard.

1) Doing nothing.
2) Improving the communication between the head office and the resort.
3) Implementing new performance evaluation and motivation techniques.
4) Building a team spirit in the resort and improving the communication between the employees.
The Analysis:
1) Doing nothing:
Doing nothing can be a solution if the management believes that the problem is temporarily during this period of the year when the resort starts accommodating a high number of customers and operating at 100 % capacity. The management office may not be willing to change any of its actions thinking that most of the employees are working under normal work pressures and that expatriates and local staffs have to work together and do good jobs no matter what situation exists.
