Principle of conservation of linear momentum (PCLM) Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

PC1431 Experiment P1 Laboratory Report Principle of conservation of linear momentum (PCLM) Objectives: 1. To verify whether PCLM is obeyed for the case of 2 objects in 1 dimensional motion before and after a collision, subjected to negligible external force. The collision with the following situations are considered: 1. One moving object and one stationary object 2. Two moving objects 2. To determine the mass of an unknown object using the PCLM Part I: to verify PCLM for collision with a stationary object Theory: By PCLM, m_1 v_1i+m_2 v_2i=m_1 v_1f+m_2 v_2f Initial total linear momentum pi = Final total linear momentum pf Given unknown masses of gliders, the values of initial and final momentum can be calculated. If PCLM is obeyed, the experimentally determined value of pi and pf should be equal. Experimental methodology: In this experiment, glider 1 is stationary and glider 2 is pushed slightly to collide with glider 1. In the first part of this experiment, gliders are with no additional weights. For the 2 gliders......

Dear Free Essays:

Thanks for helping me with my term paper!

With so many essays and term papers on your service, I got a few ideas from mixing and matching and managed to write a great paper in 1/10 the time. My teacher thought so too because I got an A grade. Thank you so much!
