Solving Segregation Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

One of the most prominent contributors to the racial divide in the United States today begins early in life and carries over to adulthood resulting in an inescapable cycle that widens the overall success gap between Anglos and minorities. Even after Brown vs. Board of Education and the Civil Rights Act, segregation within the public school system still plays a significantly negative role in the ability of minorities to achieve. It is mainly and most detrimentally felt by minority children of segregated impoverished neighborhoods. These children are assigned to second rate schools shaping second rate life chances which place their children in a similar position. Subtle tactics cause inequality among communities and schools fueling stereotypes. The effects of segregation must be neutralized by requiring equal government funding and racial proportionality within schools. One way to neutralize the effects of segregation and achieve educational equality is through equal financial allocation. Equal funding for public schools would level out the playing field for minority children ......
