Roberts Rules Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
For any organization or corporation, they have a Board of directors. This is responsible for making decisions relating to the organization or corporation. They do this through meetings where they discuss and debate the topics at hand. In order to keep this process as orderly and simple as possible, a set of rules was made up by Henry Martyn Robert, called RobertÂ’s Rules. These rules keep a meeting orderly, while staying format and giving everyone a fair chance to voice their opinions.
Mr. Robert was an engineering officer in the US Army. He had his first encounter with parliamentary procedures when he had to attend a public meeting at a church. He had too present information as a guest on what he was currently doing in the army. He was embarrassed by his lack of information on parliamentary procedures when someone on the board pointed out that he had presented his information improperly.
