The main character in this book is Kate. She is a mother of four children who lose their father and husband in a tragic car accident. Drew was a Maine State Trooper who was killed by an out of control driver. Kate decides after losing her husband to pursue her husbands dream of becoming a minister. Kate completes school and becomes a chaplain for the Maine search and rescue for the Maine Warden Service. This is a job she truly comes to love, helping others and comforting those who need it. This job requires her to be on call 24-7 to help when called. She never quite knows what the day will bring and what lies ahead of her in the deep woods of Maine. Her job requires she comfort the a family searching for lost loved ones, praying with them as the warden service conducts search and rescue missions.
