The Shannon and Weavers model are typical of transmission models of communication. In such models, communication is reduced to a question of transmitting information. The transmission model has been highly influential in the study of human communication. The Shannon-Weaver Model (1949) proposes that all communication must include six elements which are source, transmitter, message, channel, receiver and destination. In the following paragraphs, these elements with a tripartite analysis of information in terms of three levels which is supported by Shannon, Weaver will be applied in relation to a cinema show.
Using a cinema show of a film as the source, the director aims to express his intentions in the form of a message which is formulated in some kind of code. The sources purpose gets translated into a code and this requires a transmitter which are the stereo speakers and the screen that is in the cinema theatre.
