Mostly, teens in the world dont show interest in reading. They prefer to watch TV or hang out with their friends. Sharon Cho doesnt think like that. In her book Speaking of Reading she says that comic books influenced her to be a good person, a hero in her own way (p.4). Luis J. Rodriguez is another writer who, in Two Ways to Be a Warrior, explained how writing saved his life. Now, he helps other troubled teenagers. I think reading is worthwhile, and everyone should do it because this will give you a new perspective.
For me, reading is almost essential for my life, and I think it should be important to everyones life. Like me, its important to other peoples life. For example, in the story Superman and Me, Sherman Alexie explains how his fathers passion for reading inspired him to read too. I read anything that has words and paragraphs (p.176) he states. This is a beautiful story because he was an Indian boy, and the Non- Indian world didnt expected anything from him, but he didnt give up. He was so interested in reading that he became a writer.......
