Higher education, racial profiling and American society are issues frequently debated upon. However, the author, Yolanda Moses, creates a publication that shed all three of these issues to light, as well as, shows their relationship with each other.
Moses begins by bringing to exposure, the different methods by which anthropologists of old attempted to rank human abilities using trivial characteristics such as
the degree of facial projection and the position of the foramen magnum. (line 13, MOSES) She then concludes that it became next to impossible to determine if, indeed there were any biological phenomenon, in which the concept of race could have been created. It was therefore concluded that race was created socially and culturally and was, in no way related to any biological factor. Moses then went on to reflect more towards how the benefits of higher education for women, Negroes and minorities rose throughout the years but conversely, she also speculated on how Negroes, women and minorities barely stand a chance in getting into universities in which, they could rece......
