Philip Zimbardo is an American social psychologist who has dedicated his life to researching and applying knowledge in order to improve the human condition. He has written more than 250 articles and books on a wide range of topics exploring different theories on why people do what they do. Most famous of which is the Lucifer Effect demonstrated in the 1971 Stanford Prison Experiment. More recently Zimbardos Lucifer Effect theory was proven by the events that occurred in the American military prison at Abu Ghraib.
One of the big questions that people have asked throughout the ages is Why do good people do bad things? Until the Stanford Prison Experiment the standard response to this question was the answer lies in the individual.
