Imagine living in France in the 1700s, you work and you work, but you have no say in your world. The government, your priests, and your king rule your daily lives. You have four kids and one on the way. You need to be able to provided food for your family, but with the way food keeps becoming more and more costly it looks like none of your kids will get enough to fill. But you love your kids and would do anything for them maybe youll skip dinner again to night. Youre not sure, it doesnt seem fair. Your wages barley ever rise, but you work and pay all these taxes mainly over the debts caused by your last king. Taxes that the first and second estate who dont even know what its like to struggle barley have to pay, if any at all. This is what it was like for the average Joe family before the enlightenment. I believe there were three main things that caused the people of France finally stand up and take action were; one the changing economic conditions, two the lack of voice and equality, and three all the talk of the American Revolution.
