Webster defines gender as behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex. Also, Websters defines sex as the identification of male or female. The problem with this is babies dont come into this world reading the dictionary, so who influences children to act or rebel against societies view of how certain sexes are suppose to act or think? The parents are part of the blame. When parents have a little baby boy they give him blue clothes with baseballs and footballs all over it. Girls, on the other hand, receive pink clothes that have flowers on it from head too toe. When I was a child I received plastic bats and balls and I was told that I had to play sports because thats what little boys do. Not saying I regret this because if it werent for sports I wouldnt be able to attend Towson University, but what if I was gifted in something that was a little more feminine.
