Life throws you a curve ball. Do you catch and embrace it, or do you duck and ignore it? I learned at an early age that being a young mother was not easy. My mother became pregnant when she was 15 years old. She had three children by the time she was 21 and went from one abusive relationship to another. I knew that I didnt want that life for myself. I liked school and I was a good student. I planned to finish high school, go to college, and become a nurse. Then, I got pregnant at 15 and was scared that all my future plans were over. While I didnt plan on having a baby at such an early age, I learned that being a teenage mother is not the end of the world.
I met Terry in junior high when I was in the 8th grade. He had just moved to New Albany and started going to Hazelwood Jr. High. We started dating in January of my 9th grade year. I had little adult supervision at that time in my life, so I was able to go and do as I pleased. Therefore, that summer, I spent most of my time with Terry at his house, at parties, or staying with friends.
