He came to Darlington hall with his father to work for Lord Darlington who passed away. After Lord Darlingtons passing, Mr. Farraday takes over Darlington Hall. Stevens works very closely with the head housekeeper, Miss Kenton. Stevens puts his job as a butler at Darlington Hall so seriously that all of his relationships are very strained and extremely formal.
