It was a long sleeved kind of evening in March of 2003. The air was clean and the sky
was clear. The moon was half-full and the stars were sparkling. That was the night that I
met Donald. He was the man that would become my husband. I was living with my sister Tracie
and her boyfriend Shaun at the time. Shaun and Tracie had known Donald for a while, before
we got to meet. I finally got to meet Donald when Shaun had to go see Donald to discuss a
paint job.
My sister and I had nothing better to do, so we decided to ride with Shaun. He was
going to be over a friend named T's house. When we arrived at T's house there he was
standing on the deck. He looked about 6 feet tall with a slender build. As we approached the
deck, I noticed he had short, curly brown hair and baby blue eyes. We started talking and
almost instantly I noticed the spark in his eyes. I couldn't help but laugh at the feeling that I
knew he liked me. I felt like a teenager with her girlfriends when a guy comes up to you and
