"Song to the men of England" is a poem written by the english writer, Percy Bysshe Shelley in the 19th century, which speaks to the men of england ,who are the workers that are opressed by the rulling class, about their lives and how it should be. The author was considered to be a romantic poet who defended the impoverished working class and was convinced that a clash between the two classes was inevitable. The poem reflects these thoughts and the writer succeeds in comunicating her message. At first sight, Shelley adresses the suffering working class who are exploited by the rulling class. It clearly has one message stated in the first sentence divided into two verses: "Men of England, wherefore plough/For the lord who lay ye low?"which devides the two classes, the workers and the ones who exploit them , refered as "tyrants". In this way, the author criticizes the system and the fact that those who work the land are mistreated. He sympathizes with them but wants to know the reason why they let themselves to be exploited, that is why he choses to repeat the word wherefore, in ord......
