Eradicting Homelessness Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
For many people who reside in the Metropolitan Atlanta area and its subsidiaries, checking the mailbox, preparing a quick meal, and going to sleep at night can be considered to be no-brainers. Not much thought is put in to those activities, so easily executed by many. Unfortunately, there are a small percentage of people living in Atlanta who do not have the luxury of having a mailbox to check, or having a kitchen to prepare food in let alone food to eat, or having a bed to lie in. Who are these people? They are the homeless.
To be considered homeless, one must not have a home or permanent residence. Homelessness is not categorized by older men who live on the streets and beg for any spare change one may give them. It is not defined by the seemingly psychotic "bag lady," (a slang term coined by people in Atlanta), who sits near Five Points Marta Station across form Underground Atlanta holding out a cup expecting someone to feel empathetic enough to drop in a few coins. Homelessness does not exclude the two types of people previously described, but it doesn't stop there.
