The video "Childs Bride" is a documentary illustrating the tradition of forced marriage among young girls in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries and also has the earliest marry ages of any country. The documentary started off with the parents of young girl negotiating a marriage for her. The marriage negotiation indicate that in Ethiopia; marriage is more of a means of survival rather than a spiritual and romantic connection that most people in our society feels marriage should be. Most of the girls that were interviewed were married between the ages of ten and twelve, but the youngest person they interviewed was a soon to be eight year old bride. The eight year old girl was very shy when the reporter interviewed her about her future marriage, as you would expect an eight year old to be. In our society an eight year old girl would be worrying about what game she wants to play or what cartoon she wanted to watch.
