Vince Lombardi Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Vincent Thomas Lombardi was born on June 11th, 1913, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the first of five children born to Henry and Matilda Lombardi. They lived in a small town called Sheepshead Bay located in southeast Brooklyn. The people of Sheepshead Bay were of diverse cultures. The Lombardi's, who were of Italian dissent, were surrounded by neighbors of Irish, Scottish, and German heritage. Also living in the same town was Vince's rather large family. The extended family included four Grandparents, fourteen Aunts and Uncles, and numerous cousins. Henry ran his own business with his brother, selling wholesale meat from a shop on the Hudson River waterfront. This allowed the Lombardi's to live a modern American life with a middle class socioeconomic status. The stable environment of Vince's home life allowed him to develop in a continuous matter.
