Child pageantry has been a huge movement since before I was born. Young girls ranging from the age of two to the age of eleven, take part in beauty pageants all over the country. The young contestants undergo extreme changes from acting like the little girls they are to demonstrating qualities and traits of grown women. Wearing make-up, provocative clothing, and the body language is ridiculous. What message are we sending out? Should our children be considered sexy? The answer is no! It seems to me that pageants are taking it too far. Parents need to play a positive role in what goes on in these pageants. The concern should be this: what the girls are wearing, what they are doing, and most importantly what they are representing.
First of all, one of my biggest concerns is what the young ladies are wearing. The costumes, evening gowns, swimsuits etc... is way too provocative for our girls. A two year old should not be showing their mid-drift to win a contest. The idea of leaving something to the imagination has not only become scarce among our teens, but also in children at the age......
