The business environment companies of today have found it easier to renegotiate contracts instead of having contracts enforced by the judicial system. By electing to go to court for breach of contract could be time consuming, costly, and result in no one winning. Companies, such as Span Systems and Citizen-Schwarz, should be knowledgeable of contract laws and practices to prevent breach of contract. Companies that enter into a contract are responsible for fulfilling the agreements set forth in the contract. Failure to do so can result in breach of contract, which could eventually be costly for the company that breaks the contract. Span System, a leader in banking software, and its client, Citizen Schwarz, decided to enter into a one-year contract worth six million dollar that appeared to be noble for both companies at the time.
