The Lottery Ticket Probably all of us have wished we can be the winner of the lottery and become a millionaire at one time or another. Winning the lottery is the easiest way to become rich, because there is no assiduous work, perseverance, sweat and toil involved. In fact, one only needs to sit at home and watch T.V. while waiting for the luck to strike. Because everyone wants to earn easy money, winning the lottery has become an intriguing idea for securing an opulent life. However, not many people realize that the consequence of winning the lottery or even the idea of winning the lottery can be pernicious enough to turn a sweet and benevolent person into a malicious and greedy person. The story, ¡§The Lottery Ticket¡¨ illustrates how this is true of human nature. The main character in the story, Ivan Dmitritch serves as an example of a stereotypical person who is blinded by the idea of becoming rich.
