Employment Laws were made to assist and protect employers and employees. Several things happened in the past to bring on these changes. In the 1800's when the country became industrialized many issues occurred. Some of the issues were: issues with child labor, long hours, unsafe working conditions, and low pay. Many different acts came to pass because of these and many more issues. A great deal of us has profit from the many sacrifices made by others. Working for the State of Florida human resources department for the past 3 years, I have witness to a variety of situations where essentials of employment law have been utilized. These circumstances entail the application of Age Discrimination Act Family, Americans with Disabilities Act and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Pregnancy Discrimination Act.
