Christopher Boone is the main character of the book 'The Curios Incident of the Dog at Night Time'. He lives with his father on No. 36 on the Randolph Street. He goes to a school for the mentally disabled as he was diagnosed the Aspergers syndrome, where he is unable to detect human facial expressions and communicate properly. Because of this syndrome he has difficulties living a normal life, such as he does not like crowded places, does not trust people easily and people having contact with him.
The syndrome makes Chris dislike being in crowded places. When he is in a crowded place, he usually blocks his ears and hums to himself to block exterior noises and to clear his head such as the time when he was at the railway station. During he is blocking his ears, he does metal mathematical problems such as algebraic equations to calm himself down. At other times, he kicks and screams because he cannot handle the crowds such as the times when he was with his mother at a shopping mall; as he was kicking and screaming, she got frustrated and left the mall with Chris without buying anyth......
