A falling America - Peter G. Peterson in his book 'Running on Empty' Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Peter G. Peterson, in his book "Running on Empty" offers a refreshing, non-partisan look at political parties in the U.S.A. What is interesting to me is that Peterson is a Republican and they tend to support their party very intensely, but Peterson does not make his party (the Republican Party) look good and the Democratic Party look bad, he just states what he believes to be the truth. Peterson claims "both parties are bankrupting America and our future." The fluctuation of taxes is leading America into terrible economic and financial destruction.
In chapter one, Peterson explains why and how each party is bankrupting the nation and I actually understand and agree with what he has to say about both parties. It seems like the Republicans are strongly against the increasing of taxes, and reducing government revenues while the Democrats are into benefits, benefits, benefits in exchange for the political support of the people, and they do all of this with no thought to the cost and no intention of paying back in the near future.
