Theodore Roethke's poem The Storm is about a raging and radical storm that has affected many people within that area. The author makes the reader feel as if they are in this chaotic and radical storm while keeping the structure of the poem very basic. By keeping the poem very simple, it is divided into three parts making the reader feel as if he's in the storm as well as using a surplus of punctuation and poetry devices. The three parts which this poem is broken up into is the imagery of the storm, extending the visual aspect by having a first person stanza and finally a history of the storm and how it was violent in the author's perspective. The Storm is a poem which shows the connection between nature and men. The poem makes the reader dive into an immense amount of imagery while the storm is approaching. The punctuation in the first part of the poem is very precise causing the reader to have a lucid observation on the nature of the poetry.
