Thank you, John Cho Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

I first met John Cho in Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. At home, watching it on my 32-inch screen, I was dumbfounded, not at the sheer silliness of the movie's premise but, at "Long Duk Dong" last, an Asian knight in shining grammar. He spoke with a clear, seriously dude, English accent - pardon, American accent (as English is British Proper -said with nose slightly up so as to see the hairs); smoked the ganja, shunned a cute hyphenated American in favor of round-eyes, white hottie, and showed no interest nor displayed any affinities toward the martial arts. Hooray?! Obviously, in this theatrical "haha," and in the follow-up - Escape From Gitmo, there were stereotypes of Asians. Be it the Asian club's boring nerd squad that turned out to be a façade in White Castle; or the misguided and ignorant government agent that interrogated Harold's parents in Escape From Gitmo, none of these were part of Harold's character.
