As we encounter certain problems through our every day lives, we sometimes are given the responsibility to make decisions and behave in a way that will grant ourselves, as well as others, happiness or a sense of satisfaction. These tasks that we face sometimes may give us the impression that we overcome them for specific reasons. Psychological Egoism addresses those reasons as ones that solely revolve around self-interested acts. In other words, psychologists would certainly all agree that people mostly do things to benefit themselves, as in, either their physical statute or their moral happiness. This perception has, for a long time, caught the attention of many philosophers because of the ethics that deal with altruism, and other acts that occur out of selflessness. This concept of Psychological Egoism in fact proves that theory wrong since the person only worries about him/herself with the self-interested goals trying to be completed.
