Lunar New Year - Vietnamese Culture Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Vietnamese culture is full of colorful traditions and one of biggest and most typical is Lunar New Year festival - Tet. It takes place on the first day of the lunar calendar or around late January and early February of the solar calendar. Most of Vietnamese spend at least three days, even seven or more days this event through three basic steps: planning and preparation, family activities, and celebration. To prepare for this festival, they often buy a number of items. A long time ago, on this occasion, "Chung cake" and "Day cake" are ole traditional dishes made by rice, green been, meat, onion, and some other spices. Until now, they have still been indispensable food on Tet Holiday. So, those materials are prepared for 3 - 5 days in advance. Because of modern life, other things, nowadays are also added such as: cake, sweet, wine, beet, peach tree as well as gradually reducing long-prepared things - "neu" tree, fire cracker and parallel sentences.
