The film, Transcontinental Railroad, opens the public's eye to many new underlying stories that are apart of our nation's history pertaining to the design, and building of the transcontinental railroad. This chronicled event follows the American nation through its last and final true act of Manifest Destiny with the expansion of the United States' territory through the building of the railroad. The film is presented mainly through the personal and business accounts of historical individuals including the original engineer of the railroad Theodore Judah, financial backers including Huntington, Hopkins, Stanford, and the Crocker brothers, and other important figures such as Casement, Dodge, Ames, and President Abe Lincoln. The individuals' stories are accompanied by photographs (sometimes disturbing especially when considering the "hanging town" of Laramie), images of striking landscapes, and man-made depictions consisting of pictures and artwork. These artistic pieces are presented with background music that resembles a soft blue-grass as if to paint an image of a calm and more refine......
