The goal of the experiment is to determine if an emotion pill makes people express more frustration when they are tired. The experimental conditions consisted of tired/emotion pill, tired/placebo, not tired/emotion pill, not tired/placebo. Frustration was measured by physiological arousal, which was measured by testing heart rate, self-survey, and observed behavior (ability to complete task, gestures, and facial expressions). The experiment consisted of 100 participants recruited from a flyer in the newspaper for participants to help test a new "thinking" pill. The participants were pre-screened to exclude those that were not physically fit. The participants are told they will test a new "thinking" pill that claims to help best improve concentration when taken after release of high levels of endorphins and that some participants will receive a placebo.
