Controversy of Stem Cell Research Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
What are stem cells?
In looking into stem cell research it was easy to see that this was a very controversial subject. It seems everyone from local religious leaders to the President of the United States have weighed into this controversy. In researching this subject, I wanted to gain a little more knowledge on what stem cells are to better understand some of the underlying reasons behind the controversy. First I did a little internet search of stem cell, and discovered more information than is humanly possible to read, much less comprehend. I then just looked at the main links, which were Wikipedia and the National Institute of Health (NIH). The links are also listed under references at the bottom of this essay. Over the next few paragraphs I will provide some background information on what stem cells are in the hope this will shed some light into why there is so much controversy associated with anything with stem cell in the title.
