Bilbrey 1 Women in different cultures view female freedom and oppression in different ways, yet no matter where we are or where we are from all women have experienced oppression, and freedom. From reading about Haydar's experiences we can see the differences between cultural freedoms and oppression of women, what the typical American woman sees as oppression clothing wise, another woman could see it as a sort of freedom, we all have different views of female freedom. Our oppression is everywhere but some is worse than others, and some of our freedoms are more valuable than other rights. Haydar's freedom comes from her "veiling" which covers her hair, and her clothing which is very modest, she sees it as giving her the freedom to not be judged and it protects her from aesthetic persecution. Where as the woman on the bus sees her covering as oppression, because she is being forced to conceal her body, the woman on the bus has as view that freedom is to show off your physical attributes and be allowed to do so, she is mostly concerned with her gender specific qualities bei......
