Interactions with family members determine how one interacts with others who are deemed different because depending on how family members act towards each other, shows for example, a child, ways to act. This can be also taken as being a role model in certain situations. Even though others who seem to be different than they are, one will act a certain way towards them depending on how they were brought up in the family environment. The impact of adult role models' behavior and the attitudes on behavior are critical to a child's attitude, which looks up to those adults. Older peers and adults may have an important impact on a child's physical activity (Sallis 2009). If the adult is acting a certain way towards another family individual, and the child sees this, the child will take on those actions outside the home to others. For example, if an adult appears to be a smoker, this can have a serious impact on that child's development. In turn, that child could eventually start smoking at an early age.
