ABSTRACT Periphyton biomass growth was determined by placing twelve tiles in a local creek for a six week interval. There were four treatments, fast-light, fast-dark, slow-light and slow-dark, in each treatment there were three replications to show variation. Light was determined with a spherical densitometer and current was determined by visual comparison. The data was figured by using Anova Single Factor, t-test and Regression Analysis. The fast-light treatment had the best ratio of biomass and variation while the slow-light had the highest overall biomass production (variation=154.08). Regression analysis shows that there is a strong relationship between average water depth and average periphyton biomass, but a weak relationship between average canopy and average periphyton biomass. This could suggest that the more shallow the water, the more nutrients are available.
