I personally believe that young children in the early stages of learning mathematics need to be using the correct mathematical language in classrooms and also should incorporate practical activities within their day to day style of learning. In my opinion this will help students understand and remember key concepts more easily.
We should also consider the language students use in the classroom during discussions and within their work done in school.
Through out this study I will be using various literatures and utilizing my own experiences and observations which I have gained as a trainee teacher to see "what is the relationship between the use of discussion and activities with language in the early stages on learning mathematics?
