Relationship Between Baba and Amir in The Kite Runner Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

"The apple does not fall far from the tree" famous idiom that accounts true for both famous and ordinary fathers and sons through out the history of mankind. However, Amir and Baba is indeed quite an exceptional pair. In their case, not only does the apple fall so far-flung from the tree, the daddy is even ashamed of his own flesh and blood. In terms of father-son relations, the father is a very important role model for his sons. Every boy needs a father or at the very least, a fatherly figure. A great father-son relationship can be very rewarding while an abominable relationship is quite the downer. In this case, Baba is the ultimate failure. He ultimately ends up failing both Amir and Hassan. Baba¡"s chasm with Amir does not amend until a few days before his death. Also, due to Baba carelessly neglecting Amir¡"s talent in writing, he hand crafts the young Amir into a coward and a boy full of jealousy. Even as Amir grows up to be man, his past still haunts him. Amir and Baba are the perfect example of the father-son relationship in which no father nor son would ever want to have. ......
