Comparison between Huck Finn and Pip: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Great Expectations Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

From being orphans, to their eventual acceptance of those shunned by society, Huck Finn and Pip have a lot in common. Through their experiences they learned many important lessons about life, and other people. In time Pip comes to understand those who are looked down upon by society. In the beginning of the book when Pip first encountered Magwitch, he was terrified of him, and thought of nothing but getting away alive. By the time he found out that he was to go to London, and become a gentleman, Pip forgot all about the convict. When he was told that his mysterious benefactor was not Miss Havisham, but only a convict, he was disgusted. All his hopes of marrying Estella crushed, Pip simply didn't want to accept that all the things he dared dream about weren't going to happen, and he, maybe subconsciously blamed Magwitch for this. He was, most of all horrified by the thought that he had abandoned Joe and Biddy for him. As time goes by, Pip finds out more about Magwitch and Compeyson, and gets to know the convict better, Pip realises the he isn't a murderous, heartless monster, but......
