Google and Procter & Gamble (P&G) have been swapping employees since early last year in an effort to promote creativity and establish a beneficial relationship. About 24 employees from both companies have been sitting in on each other's business meetings helping to brainstorm and offer outsider opinions and ideas.
P&G has come to realize that the next generation of consumers (ages 18 to 27) spends more time on the Internet than watching TV. While P&G is one of the world's largest advertising spender with an annual budget of 8.7 billion, they currently only spend an estimated 2% on internet marketing. Google stands to gain extra advertising dollars through P&G's need for a stronger online presence and P&G gains a better understanding of digital advertising and what they can do with it.
