In choosing to take an AP class, one is willing to sacrifice time, energy, and fun in order to gain a greater knowledge in the subject of their choosing. Students spend hours and hours debating whether they have what it takes to enlist in one of these classes, and some find they cannot deal with the pressure and end up quitting. One of the more challenging classes of the AP world is the Language and Composition course. It forces students to throw away almost everything they have been taught about writing and start new, with new strategies and techniques. This year I have learned a new way to utilize the writing process. Instead of simply bypassing the many steps good writing requires, I have learned the importance of taking time to write and rewriting in order to come as close to perfection as I possibly can.
