Theme in Frankenstein Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
One, if the not the most evident, theme in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is the theme of death and how to avoid it. Victor Frankenstein's main goal throughout the process of creating his monster was to create life from death. Once he succeeded, he believed that his discovery could ultimately eliminate death from the face of the earth. Obviously this didn't happen due to numerous problems that Frankenstein faced while and after creating the monster. But had everything went right and he had succeeded, would of it been right to eliminate death? I firmly believe that eliminating death from life would not be a good or moral decision. Eliminating death may have some benefits, but no death would also eliminate the moral, ultimate goal of reaching eternal heaven with God.
At first thought, eliminating death off of the face of the earth sounds like a great idea. There would be no more suffering over lost loved ones, no disease, a decrease in violence that led to death, etc. This would ease a lot of problems that are currently in the world today. People would no longer have to worry about......
