The alarm, incredibly irritating overly necessary, a one way call to my morning. As it comes my dreams are broken my thoughts disrupted by noise. I open my eyes and in an immeasurable change from the whimsical world of dreams to the dark, dreary image that is my room. Outside the warm safety of my covers is a freezing unknown of which I must face with gusto in every step, instead of quiver in fear in the confines of my comforter. So I walk across my room to my desk where my phone lay over a poem. "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley, it is but a token of the previous night filled with resuscitation and memorization. The line "I thank whatever gods maybe, for my unconquerable soul" still echoes in my mind.
My morning continues down the stairs it seems an eternity has passed by the time I make it to the bottom, even though it was mere seconds.
