I will be discussing the affecting culture change experience that I gained from the leadership in action simulation. This paper will cover established methods of control and current departmental and organizational cultures, recommendations to improve the culture and empower employees, describing which management practices would be most effective and why, and I will finish by explaining how the new size and structure could affect the organization, individuals, groups, teams, and the organization's future.
The leadership in action simulation was of an organization called Smith and Falmouth (S&F) and was a mid-size tele-shopping and mail order network and with operations in the United States (U.S.) and Canada. Irene Seagraves, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), positioned me as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). I had to streamline the online operations, increase the reach of online sales channel, and make S&F Online a profitable strategic business unit. I have until the end of the financial year, which is nine months from now, to achieve the target set by Irene.
