The quickening. It seemed that the quickening was all people talked about anymore. The disease had already killed 100 million in the U.S. And the experts believed it was close to leaving the country even with the quarantines. Entire cities had been closed down by the terrible virus that wouldn't stop. This many years past, people may not know what the quickening did. So here's how it works: The quickening was a virus developed for use in what appeared to be the upcoming world war. It was designed to be used against countries. The U.S. government knew that they could isolate their borders during war to be safe, it was their soldiers they had to worry about. So they tried to develop a cure. First rule of bio-warfare: always create the cure before the disease, thats the first mistake the U.S. made. Second mistake: testing it on live human subjects. The disease basically ate the brain over the course of one week, starting with the area's deemed "non-vital." To trick foreign governments into thinking that the virus was just a hinderer: trying to take the soldiers ......
