When thinking about the goods and services we receive on a daily basis we can sometimes get so wrapped up in our own lives that we do not take into account the work that goes into the service being rendered. Whether it is at a small café, a photography retail store, or a specialized furniture construction company, the service or product itself is the result of operational systems including the input, operations, and output stages. We are going to look at those three unique company scenarios with three different products, yet all with the same goal in mind - to make the customer happy.
The input of these three companies vary from one another although they all are wanting to make sure they have their customers' wants and needs in mind , which is to ensure they are providing them with the proper product and service in a timely fashion. When looking at a café's input you are going to see that they use a small-batch production which is an operating system designed to make one-of-a-kind or small quantities of customized products (Jones, 2007).
