Author Study of Mark Teague Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Mark Teague Mark Teague was born in 1963 in La Mesa California. Mark has a wife named Laura and two daughters Lily age eight and Ava age two and a half. They live in a small New York town in Hudson Valley along with a few cats and eleven chickens. Mark was born and raised in San Diego. When he was little Mark would tell his mother what to write and then he would draw pictures. Mark has had no formal art training and is a self-taught illustrator and writer. He has been writing and illustrating children¡¦s books for over twenty years. He moved to New York in 1986 and had his first picture book published The Trouble with the Johnson¡¦s. This book was noticed by Publisher¡¦s Weekly where they noted him as one of eleven outstanding authors of 1989. Teague is the youngest of seven children. He graduated from the University of Santa Cruz with a degree in United States History. After moving to New York Teague got a job a Barns and Noble.
