To most people, high school was a four year prison. As Theodore Sizer says in his essay What High School Is, "tomorrow and virtually every other tomorrow will be the same."(223) to others, high school was more than four years of education; it was building blocks to the success of their future. Webster's Dictionary defines high school as a public secondary school usually including grades nine through twelve. Although, high school has many other personal definitions, high school can build life long skills. It can also be a place to explore the type of life choices you want to be made. More so, high school athletics can give a sense of accomplishment that students might be unable to find elsewhere. High school can also be defined as a place to learn, find friends, and enjoy athletics. Obviously, high school is a place where students are meant to be taught and learn.
