Urbanization Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Urbanization is defined as the process by which the population of the cities grows. It has two dimensions, which are an increase in the number of people living the cities and an increase in the percentage of people living in the cities. The distinction between the two factors is important, because they occur for different reasons and have different global distributions.
The professor James H. Kunstler tells us the difference between a place to care for and a place that shouldn't be cared for. A place that should be cared for is a place that has a lot of nice scenery and attractions to get consumers to go there. It should be filled by people all the time with enough consumer goods for people to shop there. This shows the good of urbanization. The bad of urbanization is the places that should not be cared for. These are places like the Boston City Hall Plaza. Places such as this have a very unappealing appearance that does not attract people to it.
