Malcolm X Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In only forty years of life, ten of which were spent immersed in a world of crime and drugs, Malcolm Little altered the course of racism in ways no human had done so before. He is one of the most prominent and influential African American leaders that history has ever witnessed; a major aspect of the extensive civil rights movement. However, before Malcolm Little could transform the nation, it was essential that he adjust his own lifestyle and beliefs. As he stated in an interview a year before his death, Malcolm Little said, "My whole life has been a chronology of changes." This statement is indubitable, seeing as a myriad of incredibly significant moments in Little's life can easily be pinpointed. Furthermore, many of these moments resulted in a dramatic change in Little's character. One of these experiences is Malcolm Little's pilgrimage to Mecca as a devout Islam, causing a multitude of changes in Little's life.
