Foreshadowing In of Mice and Men Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Foreshadowing is a warning or indication of a future event or something thought in retrospect. The word foreshadowing is a major role in the book of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. In the book, foreshadowing leads up to the big picture, Lennie's death. Each event that happens, Lennie killing the mice, Carlson shooting the dog, Lennie killing the pup, Lennie killing Curley's wife, and Lennie getting killed by George signifies the disability of Lennie. This disability holds George and Lennie from doing anything successful in life. This is what causes the big picture and what is being foreshadowed in the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck.
In Of Mice and Men, foreshadowing starts at the beginning of the story, but this foreshadowing is a major indication of a future event. An example of foreshadowing in Of Mice and Men is when Lennie kills the mice in the beginning of the story. When Lennie feels the mice's heads, he breaks their necks and the mice die. This is an example of foreshadowing because later in the book, Lennie kills his puppy by feeling its hair and petting......
